Technology is basically anything developed for the sake of improving the lifestyle of people. It's an object that makes an action easier or more eloquent. That means writing also counts.

Each time a thread roulette takes place, threads for it will go here! This event pairs together random characters with a prompt and location to start things off, with the direction of the thread ultimately depending on the involved parties. It's a good opportunity for characters who would otherwise have a hard time plotting to interact, as well as the potential for members to roleplay with someone new.

Fragment's primary method of travel over land, other than domesticated animals, is train. With technology pooled from the continent's more advanced cities, the train has a station in the Snowcap region, Tanwood, Villiava, Eden, and a remote outpost outside of the Wild's jungle borders. Some are more inconvenient than others, but it's a price to pay for easy travel in a place where there is plenty of danger on foot. Threads posted here can be either at the station or en route to a destination.

Air
Eden's airships have made travel from place to place a quick and rather painless venture. With ports in Eden, Hinansho, Villiava, and a small outpost for imports at each of the Void Coast's research facilities, the airships have become integral to the movement of people and products. With a dangerous world lying in wait between cities, civilians with no protection are usually willing to spare a bit of coin to make sure passage is safe. Threads posted here can be either at the station or en route to a destination.

The oldest known school on the Fragment, and it shows. Aged brick, new wood, various additions and repairs made to the walls and rooftops. It still looks grand, as its a large campus with many buildings to its name. But the main student hall where once the first classes were held stands today as a reminder of many, many years gone by. Several of Roskegard's educational tourist locations are owned and run by the university, which also serves as a neutral research depot.

Children eighteen and under will be schooled at the Roskegard Academy for the Young and Gifted. It's a large campus, enough for students in Roskegard and the nearby Villiava, as well as any children that might be boarding from other cities. The school aims to help and teach the youth of this world both in the use of their powers and to cope with their situation on Fragment, as well as the basic skills needed to live upon coming of age.

The hilly landscape provides the residential areas with the perfect measure of separation: atop the tallest of these hills are the particularly high-end mansions, where the wealthy and successful typically live. The Row Lane line the roads along the bases. These homes are compact and built close together, to minimize the space required for the large population. Midtown consists of the in-city residential, usually where craftsmen live.

The ancient center of town, where all roads through Roskegard eventually meet. When the city was still young and long before it became the bustling metropolis it is today, the World Plaza was a simple dirt clearing around which the merchants of the known world gathered. Today it's paved in mosaic, telling the story of the city's settlement, which one may read as it walks the road to the portal plaza that will warp them into the labyrinths.

The Tower of Yggdrasil, a behemoth structure of unknown origin . Jagged and intimidating, made of smooth, blue-black 'stone' whose roots twist and wind through the earth, keeping the fragile continent of Fragment together. Only one thing is certain in this world: the tower caused the cataclysm. And now, the only hint anyone has of undoing what's been wrought is to climb into the sky which, in Yggdrasil's vicinity, is cloudy perpetual twilight.

The South of Eden is dominated by the large, sprawling Trade District, a busy area frequented by both residents and visitors alike. Vehicles pack the roads to and from the city’s primary entrance. Criminals are a definite presence here, but so too is Eden’s police force.

No one in recent memory remembers what the wastes looked like before the lands died and rotted. It doesn't matter now. Almost completely dead and uninhabitable, the wastes are bleak and desolate, the soil grey and choked by soot, with poison air and acid rain. To cross the wasteland unprepared is a death sentence, and those who settle in Eden rarely leave for fear of what could become of them otherwise.

It's half of a mountain. In the old world, the mountain was a tall, sandy mountain that loomed high above its parent range. But the cataclysm split the mountain in two, and its other half fell into the void. It borders the void coast and serves as a guaranteed accelerator of death for the reckless.

The dunes' one city, situated in the vicinity of a shallow lake. Surrounded by tall, strategically spiked walls Tanwood is protected from the critters that roam the desert.

Tanwood's many ranches and plantations exist at the very edge of town, some distance away from the residences and shops. Beyond that lies the guild outposts, providing adventurers with assistance and protection from the creatures that lurk in the unknown. After a certain point, however, everyone is left to pursue their goals alone. Those that are well prepared have the best chance of surviving.

Located where the dunes give way to a new region altogether, these mountains house some of the more dangerous mines, while also providing a shelter for certain bandits to settle without fear of the law. It's no secret that Whiteridge Mountains holds a great deal of riches and other valuables, serving as the perfect natural stronghold for storing treasures - adventurers brave enough to overcome the risks flock to it in search of the fortune they've always dreamed of. Exercise extreme caution, however, or face the consequences. It's not an exaggeration to say that carelessness could lead to an early demise.

A city of lights, clearly visible from a distance. Built atop the surface of a massive lake, Villiava takes full advantage of the landscape to craft a beautiful city for both its residents and tourists. The canals that run through the city provide ample opportunity for restaurants and shops, and the tasteful use of fire lights illuminate the city with a beautiful, dim golden when the sun disappears from above. Residents would tell you there's no prettier place, even in their own worlds... but be careful where you venture. Even the most gorgeous of utopias hide their dark secrets.

The grassland's mild climate and extensive flatlands provides ample opportunity for farmers and ranchers to raise their product. Though Villiava is not a farming town in any sense of the word, its outer reaches are nevertheless extensively rural, with several dozen individual farms providing food not just for the city and the region's towns, but also for export to other regions.

Further out still where farmland eventually melds with the rest of the region, tall grasses grow in waves up and down the region's many hills. The plains are utterly teeming with life and its not uncommon to see herds of deer or wild horses. At night while these herds sleep, wolves also become a relatively common sight, though it's not advised to seek them out.

A tamed tangle of trees, far safer than its dangerous cousin in the Wilds, is home to a variety of creatures. Though it is filled with danger, as any forest would be, these predators share this home with deer, and many small mammals and reptiles. Trails run through it for the adventurous explorer and though it's not advised to go unprepared it's at least almost guaranteed you'll make it through to the other side. The river cuts through the forest, providing a halfway point and landmark around with a small village can congregate.

A bustling city with too many lights and signs, Hinansho stands as the political center of the mountainous region. The locals have been claimed to never sleep and that tourists could never run out of entertainment be it shopping, films, or various other attractions. As one of the most developed cities within the Fragment, the city's stability and success can be attributed to the efforts of the Intrepidus Guild and their peacekeeping. Buildings reach towards the sky and the technology used to construct these skyscrapers can only get better and better.

In comparison to Hinansho, Sinjeon is a relatively quiet center for arts and culture, keeping the soul of the Snowcap region's locals alive. The mood is relatively unchanged since the years of its founding, being reminiscent of many traditional Asian cultures from the old world, from beyond Fragment. Even the wooded areas on the outskirts of the city breathe that tradition into the world. It reflects in their tourism and in their everyday life.

Tre Forest remains to be dense as it surrounds the area close to Sinjeon city. Instead of it being a forest of trees, Tre is a forest of grass, with bamboo stalks reaching far above any living person's head and then some. The paths need to be cleared regularly to prevent the bamboo from overtaking them and its outer edges slowly gets chipped away to make room for more farmland development and as the land slowly becomes more rocky than fertile. Still, there are a great number of secrets and local tales that rests inside.

The largest and most extensive of the mountainous regions of Fragment, it is for Tsagaan that the region of Snowcap is named as it is. These cold, tall mountains enclose the region, bordering the Dunes as they plummet in height and eventually meld into the Whiteridge chain, and a section that cuts through the region itself serves to separate the main cities of Hinansho and Sinjeon. the highest elevations are treacherous, but hanging out near the base provides the traveler with access to trees and wildlife. Keep to the hiking paths!

The highest point of the Wilds rainforest, subject to blazing heat, low humidity, and powerful winds that constantly rock the branches. Surprisingly you'll find that a lot of Wilds settlements extend up into the sunlight, far away from most of the dangerous predators that stalk the forest floor. It seems that residents would prefer the dangers of falling to their deaths than the beasts that wait below, though they've certainly adapted to the risk.

A majority of a jungle's residents tend to flourish in the canopy, and it's no different on Fragment. In the canopy most of these creatures are relatively harmless or don't have any interest in hunting down people, making it the safest place to build the majority of Lethavin's homes. Surprisingly, a city build entirely out of platforms and treehouses is rather effectively, as long as you aren't afraid of heights.

At this point, light is beginning to struggle to filter itself through the leaves, branches, and buildings. Darker than the canopy but still illuminated compared to the Undergrowth, the understory offers residents a final resting place before venturing down towards the forest floor, or otherwise provides respite for those returning. Most small beasts avoid the understory. To them, it's too unsafe.

Dark. Foreboding. Though most life in the Wilds lives in the canopy, they don't do so without reason, so beneath the understory where the light barely reaches lurk beasts beyond imagining. Hellbent on destroying anything it perceives as a threat, the Wilds creatures work together as a superorganism to both kill people and destroy their encroaching technology. Only the most hardened of warriors stand a chance in the undergrowth, where some folks say the danger is far greater even than that of Yggdrasil's labyrinths.

The Dawn Edge Research Facility is one of the major centers of learning on Fragment. Its primary function is to study the Void and it does so with the help of an observatory and a very large, advanced telescope. The goal is to find out whatever can be found about the space Fragment seems to exist in. Additionally, the facility supports other sciences as well and promotes students from across Fragment to pursue careers here.

Any artifacts and data found by adventurers eventually makes it here, where the gaggle of scientists within attempt to piece together the story as best as they can. They also transmit relevant data to the Void facility and the two work very closely together to write the full scientific history of Fragment. Like Dawn Edge, students and researchers are encouraged to study and work here.

The rivers that began in the mountains eventually flow here, pooling into lakes before falling over the edge of the world into the void. These waters are especially dangerous, for they can easily pull the unwary right over the falls, never to be seen again. Strangely, the water never seems to drain completely, and if one was to follow the river to the other side of Fragment... it is pressed against the nothingness, seeming to pour from out of nowhere.
